This is my very first attempt at a rink. I have holes all over my tarp and with a deep end of 15" inches, the water was flowing freely from it. I heard that E6000 or something like that, will bond the tarp together, but at this point I think the tarp is toast. I was wondering, can I build up a base of snow inside the rink, level it out and then flood? At this point, I think this is my only option? Plus, no snow in South Western Ontario is making me and the family go stir crazy. Any thoughts?

Ok Thanks, Nick, all we need is the cold weather.

Thanks Mark, debated getting a new liner or tarp, but decided to hold off until next year and live with the one we have for this year.

I too have holes in my tarp
Wait till it cold then Mist it using a garden hose set to fine mist
If you have snow push some around the edges and freeze it in place
you have to make your rink like it has no liner
Misting will make about 1 inch an hour of Ice
Daniel, how long do you mist for?
Permalink Reply by Daniel robitaille on January 24, 2012 at 5:26pm I mist an area for about 1/2 hour then move it to cover another area
repeat till the rink is covered then leave it overnight
next day top up, fill in any holes, repeat the mist on the low areas
good luck this year the weather just doesn't stay cold long enought
