Pool Noodles or ……?

Hello - I see a lot of folk suggest pool noodles over the top rails of rink board system. In my case I am using landscape timbers (which are awesome by the way, everyone else in my town has had blow outs). Any ideas on some type of protective barrier I could put over the timbers so no one whacks their head?See More

"I agree with Daniel, but I would first put some snow on the area. Probably about 2 inches thick, then I would start to mist the snow. Saturate but do not melt the snow. Let it freeze really well then add more water to the site. You will have a good…"

High corner of rink

the one area of my rink that isn't at 3 inches yet is the highest point, about 15 ft by 15 ft in the corner. 85% of the rink was perfect and I tried a large flood with fire hose at middle of rink. Half of the ice crystalized on top (is this shell ice?). What should I do at this point and how can I fill this one corner. I am on the home stretch here and tonight the temp temp tonight is 14F, followed by 14, 12, 18. It was suggested that I do a final 2 inch flood tonight of the whole rink?…See More

Bob replied to Paul's discussion How long between layers
"I have been using this technique today in mass, every 2 hours for last 6 hours, it appears to be working very well. Rink is 32 x 72, this is the last corner, 1/4 of my rink. If this works I am home free and skating soon."
