"Question How do you stop yourself from going bigger LOL If I had that space each year would be bigger. Do you use a liner or Just Water ?"

"inside and under the liner work best as the water can't push them out of the way Always try for inside first, if you are on the outside the ICE can push it away, if it inside there is no where for it to go"

"You could run some 2X4 or 1X6 along the inside to fill the gaps before putting the liner in. I wanted the top of my board to be level so I dug the high spots and put in it in the low spots. I've also run 1X6 on the inside for larger opening,…"

"Depending on how big you could just get bags of topsoil and build on top then reuse the topsoil in the spring Pallets work well and cost little just pull a few a part to fill in save of Plywood, Cover with old carpet so no sharp edges "

Thank you for the welcome. This is my 2nd successful rink. I started in 2012-2013, but missed the window last year. My first rink was 12x24, and this year I went just a tad wider at 16x24. My available space is limited, but the rink is enough for family and friends to enjoy. A lot of my ideas came from this site and its nice to be able to share. Thanx again for the welcome !!

My rink is very small... like 16 feet by 29 feet...  however, my son learned to ice skate on it at 4 years old just last week.  So, I have the fever to build a much bigger one, but I am out of room.  What I have is great for now.  Thanks for the welcome.
