mybackyardicerink.com Community
the world's premiere online community for backyard ice rinks
If you've looked at my page (photos) you can see we (obviously) haven’t completed the rink (yet) but would like to thank everyone who has helped (to this point) by donating materials, time or tools.
Yes, we have had to pay for a number of items and services ourselves but found many great deals on Craigslist, friends and family members (we started our search last spring).
-Landscape guy “Harold” found locally on Craigslist (for a great rate).
-(27) 8’x 4x4’s were a find on Craigslist / $2.50 a post.
-(15) 4’x 4”x 4” donated (family)
-Fencing for the boards behind the nets has been donated (family)
-50 Reclaimed 2x12’s (14’ to 17 ½’ long) most green treated found on Craigslist for $125
-50 8’x 5’ ½” x 5/8” “New” decking boards (for corners) donated (family).
- Sodium light donated by (family)
- Reclaimed telephone pole donated (friend)
- Used 50’x100’ Rink liner found on Craigslist for $50 (found last spring)
Our material search and board installation work isn't 100% complete but by the time the temperature remains consistently below freezing and the ground frozen, the boards, fencing and liner will be in place and water will be hard......The real fun will begin.
THANK YOU!! to everyone who has help with the rink with your time, materials, tools and ideas.
