I have seen a number of different setups, looking for the most economical above your boards netting, what works best?

Chain Link works fine and is as heavy duty as you can get. Make sure you get a small size square say 1 1/2 inch or less. Here's what I use at the end of the zones . 2x4 attached to the boards 4 ft of chain link high. Keeps most of them in.
