So for a backyard rink A least 4 inches of water supported ice

FYI indoor hockey rink ice is a lot less as it 100% supported (no water under it)

Thanks Daniel!

So I have 18" on my deepest end.  And it is frozen solid, like all 18" of ice.  I should be good, right?

Kris, 18”? You’ll be skating in April!!  We’ve had 3 days of 50 degree weather here...still not skating....YET!

Oh Tom, sorry, I can understand the feeling of waiting for the cold and for the rink to freeze. That happens to me in October. And yes, we are typically still skating in April up here. I guess the advantage of being so far north is the extended backyardrink season.
