I used to be a sports writer back in Norwich, CT and covered the Whalers. Who can forget Sylvain Turgeon? I live in Iowa now, but my seven-year-old son was born in Middletown and now roots for the Hurricanes. I caught the Whalers' last game in Springfield before they returned to Hartford. I was sitting in the second row with one of my buddies. Ten minutes were left in the game, and the people next to us got up and left one minute earlier because they a little kid with them. The puck popped over the glass, and I reached down to grab it. My seven-year-old now has it. Of all of the sports I covered -- NHL, NFL, and MLB, hockey players were clearly the best interviews and the classiest ... except for Patrick Roy.
