    Hello Adam, if you ground is level and compact, 2inches of ice is definitely enough! Come to think of it, in an NHL arena, the ice is built to a thickness of approximately 1-1.25 inches. My rink has a 1inch
    slope so it goes from 21/2inches to 3-1/2inches.
