  • I cut 5' radius pieces out of 3/4 plywood with heavy duty router, then glued 2 pieces on top of each other forming a 1.5" thick radius.  Added studs then kerf cut 1/2 plywood and screwed and glued to the frame.  I did add  a second  sheet of 1/2" plywood so that my corners are 1"thick.  this is my first rink, its been a lot of fun to build with my son

  • Mark, thanks. I appreciate all the info. How did you curve the boards at the end? Your setup looks great.

  • my walls are 4' on the ends and 16" on the sides. I bought 40' long by 7 foot high nets to cover the ends , they are mounted on 10 foot tall poles that pass through the end boards.  My son is 9 and does not get to shoot slap shots yet but skips it off the crossbar sending them pretty high.  I bought the net off Ebay for cheap and the poles are 1.5" electrical conduit from Lowes

  • Nice. How high are the boards at each end? We didn't have any last year. But my son is now 11 and a peewee.  He gets to take slapshots. He is very good at it, and puts them in the neighbors' yards. Since he can hit the top corner of the goal from the blue line, anything that is off winds up out of our yard.  I added boards this year and am thinking of nets for next year.
